Dental Practice
Cleaning.

Infection control and operatory sanitation built specifically for dental practices across Long Island — because dental office cleaning requires more than a standard janitorial service.

Dental Practices Require a Cleaning Partner Who Understands Infection Control.

Dental offices operate under some of the most stringent infection control requirements in outpatient healthcare. From aerosol-generating procedures to sharps exposure risks and the sterilization instrument workflow, every aspect of a dental practice environment creates unique cleaning demands that general janitorial services are simply not equipped to handle.

First Aid Cleaning Services provides specialized dental practice cleaning for practices across Nassau and Suffolk County. Our technicians understand the layout and workflow of dental environments, follow OSHA Infection Control in Dental Settings guidelines, and use EPA-registered surface disinfectants appropriate for clinical contact surfaces, housekeeping surfaces, and non-critical equipment.

When your staff arrives in the morning, every surface should already be clean, disinfected, and ready. That's the standard we hold ourselves to — and why practices that switch to us don't go back.

We Follow OSHA Dental Infection Control Guidelines.

Clinical Contact Surfaces vs. Housekeeping Surfaces

OSHA and CDC distinguish between clinical contact surfaces (touched by gloved hands during patient care) and housekeeping surfaces (floors, walls, general areas). Our teams are trained to treat each category with the appropriate product, method, and frequency. Clinical contact surfaces in operatories receive intermediate-level disinfection. Housekeeping surfaces receive lower-level disinfection appropriate to their risk category.

Aerosol Contamination Considerations

Dental procedures generate aerosols that can deposit on nearby surfaces throughout the operatory. Our cleaning protocols account for this — surfaces within the aerosol "splash zone" receive more thorough disinfection, and we pay specific attention to light fixtures, overhead equipment arms, and adjacent countertops that accumulate bioburden from procedures.

Sterilization Area Boundaries

We do not enter sterile instrument storage or handle processed instruments. Our scope at the sterilization area covers the housekeeping surfaces: counters, sink surrounds, cabinet exteriors, floors, and door handles. If you have specific cleaning needs inside the sterilization instrument cycle area, we will review requirements with your infection control coordinator before service begins.

End-of-Day vs. Between-Patient Cleaning

We typically perform end-of-day or early-morning comprehensive cleaning. Between-patient operatory turnover is a separate process typically handled by dental assistants per your practice's infection control protocols. We are available to discuss how our scheduling complements your in-office turnover workflow.

Dental Cleaning — Common Questions.

Yes — most of our dental clients prefer end-of-day cleaning so operatories are fully prepared for the next morning. We schedule around your last appointment and ensure the facility is properly disinfected and ready before your team arrives.
No. We do not handle sharps containers, regulated medical waste, or contaminated clinical items. That waste stream is managed by licensed medical waste haulers. Our scope is environmental surface cleaning and general waste removal only.
We use EPA-registered intermediate-level disinfectants appropriate for clinical contact surfaces in dental settings. Product selection is matched to surface material — dental chair upholstery, hard composite surfaces, and metal surfaces each have appropriate products. We can review our product list with your infection control coordinator.
We use color-coded microfiber systems with dedicated cloths per zone. Operatory cleaning cloths are never reused in another operatory without laundering. Mop heads are changed between rooms. This prevents the transfer of bioburden from one clinical area to another.
Our team is trained in OSHA's Infection Control in Dental Settings guidelines and understands the distinction between clinical contact surface disinfection and general housekeeping protocols required in dental environments. We stay current with published guidance and adjust protocols as needed.
